Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Practical, relationship-based support for participants living with psychosocial disability to build and work through their own recovery plan.

Your recovery, your plan

Recovery means different things to different people. We work alongside you over time, rather than only seeing you for an appointment. Your priorities shape the plan and the pace. This can include:

  • Working out what recovery looks like for you and building a plan around it.
  • Building routine and structure.
  • Recognising early warning signs and planning for them.
  • Rebuilding connections with family, community or work.
  • Coordinating the services involved so you aren't holding it all alone.
  • Staying alongside you through a setback rather than closing the file.

Who you'll work with

Recovery coaching is delivered by a qualified social worker working on the recovery coach learned-experience pathway, with practice experience supporting people through family and domestic violence, family breakdown, child protection involvement and contact with the justice system. This experience informs work with participants whose psychosocial distress and disability sit alongside other pressures in their lives.

Availability and choosing support

By arrangement, with weekend sessions available. In-person support across Perth's southern and northern suburbs.

Liaison with other services happens during business hours.

Recovery coaching and support coordination are usually funded as alternatives rather than together. We can help work out which fits your situation before anything is committed to.

Our position

Conflict of interest and provider choice

We keep support coordination and recovery coaching separate from the delivery of other supports. Your interests and your choice of providers guide the work.

  • Where we provide your support coordination or recovery coaching, we do not also deliver your other supports.
  • Where we deliver your community access, mentoring or skill-building, we do not provide your support coordination or recovery coaching.
  • We do not provide support coordination or recovery coaching for any person for whom we have prepared an assessment or report, and we do not prepare assessments or reports about any person we support.
  • You are offered a genuine choice of providers, and the options presented to you are documented.
  • You can change provider at any time without affecting any other support.
